Bhartiya Kisan Union threatens to block road
The Bhartiya Kisan Union (Tikait group) (BKU) has threatened the local administration that if the stretch of Yamunanagar-Radaur-Kurukshetra road near Damla village was not constructed within 10 days, they would block the road on December 16.
While talking to mediapersons in Radaur town on Thursday, district president of the BKU Subhash Gurjar said the stretch situated close to Damla village was in bad shape.
He said the damaged stretch caused traffic jams on the busy Yamunanagar-Radaur-Kurukshetra Road every day.
“Motorists are facing a lot of problems due to the broken road. Farmers are facing most difficulties as their sugarcane loaded tractor-trailers get stuck in the jam,” said Gurjar.
Gurjar said the condition of this road was bad for the past several months, but the government was not paying any attention to the problem.
“Accidents are taking place every day. Therefore, the BKU has taken the tough decision to block the road,” said Subhash Gurjar.
He said if the road was not repaired in 10 days, they would block the road on December 16.
He appealed to all people of the area to gather in large numbers at Damla (near old toll tax) on December 16.
The farmer leaders including state vice-president Nambardar Deep Rana, Ashok Dangi, Pawan Goyal, Rajiv Tejli, Ramesh Dhillon, Sahil Setia and Uday Singh Kunjal were present.
