Baghel calls for withdrawal of Agniveer scheme, accuses BJP of misleading people
Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has demanded that BJP government withdraw the Agniveer scheme, criticising the party for misleading people about its benefits. Baghel questioned why the government doesn’t provide regular Army jobs to youth if it claims to offer permanent employment with pension benefits to Agniveers after four years.
While addressing a poll meeting in Rewari, Baghel said, “The BJP government should scrap the Agniveer scheme and restore regular Army recruitment, providing youths with stable employment opportunities.”
Baghel’s statement came in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s promise that every Agniveer from Haryana would receive a permanent job with pension benefits after completing their four-year tenure.
He emphasised that Haryana, known for its jawans, kisans and pahalwans, has been negatively impacted by BJP’s 10-year rule, leading to widespread discontent among the population.
