The Yonex Sunrise 29th Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial All-India Junior Badminton Championship will be held from July 7 to 13 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, Panchkula.

India’s top-seeded junior players Pranav Rao Gandham, Sakshi Phogat, Anushil Budhwar- Awantika Pandey, Darshan Pujari-Abhinav Thakur, Gnanadha Karthikeyan-Sania Sikkandar along with Anupama, who won Polish International Challenge, Infosys Foundation International Challenge; 16-year-old Punjab’s Lakshay Sharma, who won Multi Alarm Hungarian International Junior World Ranking Championship and claimed bronze medal in the All-India Junior Ranking Tournament; and 15-year-old Unnati Hooda, who won Odisha Open Super Series and Khelo India Games, will feature in this championship.

As many as 1,271 players have confirmed their entries and the championship will be played in singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories.

“Prize money of Rs 4 lakh will be distributed among winners, runners-up, semi-finalists and quarterfinalists (singles). The qualifying rounds will be held from July 7 to 9, followed by main draw matches from July 10 to 13,” said Sanjiv Sachdeva, organising secretary of the tournament.
