Awareness session on ill-effects of drug abuse
Phagwara, August 27
MLU DAV College, Phagwara, held a painting competition in line with buddy programme to spread awareness about drug abuse and its harmful effects for humans. The event took place under the guidance of the Principal Dr Kiranjeet Randhawa. The aim and objectives of holding the painting competition among the students were to aware and keep safe the youth against drug addiction.
Different paintings were made by the students highlighting the menace of drugs over the world in general and Punjab in particular.
The paintings read a number of beautiful lines to save the young generation like: “Don’t let your life go up in smoke”, “Say No to Drugs And Yes to Life”, “No Drugs! No Drugs!”, “Make Punjab Drug Free”, “Drugs Kill”, “Drugs Spoil Life and Nation”, and so on.
The paintings themselves clearly demonstrated the ill-effects of drugs and had a great appeal for the students. While sharing thoughts with students, the Principal focused on the need to save the younger generation from falling prey to drugs. She stressed on the fact that students should develop good habits in themselves and be more careful towards health.
Further added that a good, healthy, peaceful and a successful society or a nation is the result of the individual efforts of its individuals.
