Auto overturns, 1 dead

A passenger died on Thursday, while some others sustained minor injuries after an autorickshaw overturned in Pataudi.

The driver of the autorickshaw managed to flee the spot.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Pradeep Kumar, a Pataudi Ward-2 resident who worked at the Bata warehouse in Jodi Sampka village. The incident took place on the Gurugram-Pataudi road at around 6 pm on Thursday.

As per the complaint filed by Krishan Kumar, the brother of the deceased, Pradeep was returning home from work when the autorickshaw he was in overturned opposite Sector-1 in Pataudi. He was rushed to a hospital in Rewari, where he died during treatment.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the driver at the Pataudi police station on Thursday.

A senior police officer said cops were trying to nab the auto driver. The body was handed over to the kin of the deceased after the postmortem today.
