Although the driver claimed that the suspects had hired his auto on both the days, the police were probing whether he had the information that an attack would be carried out at the house No. 575.

After hurling a hand grenade, the suspects escaped in the auto, getting off at the Sector 17/18 light point where they switched to another auto. The suspects had escaped after giving Rs 500 to the driver. The auto was traced and the driver was apprehended by the police just hours after the attack.
