Aujla holds meeting with airport officials

Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla held a meeting with members of the Amritsar Airport Advisory Committee on Wednesday.

In the meeting, attended by airline managers and other airport officials, he emphasised on increasing the frequency of flights from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport and streamlining the parking facility.

Aujla said that on the lines of a direct flight to Sri Nanded Sahib from Amritsar airport, more flights should be operated for other religious places too. “The domestic and international visitors would be able to visit other religious places after paying obeisance at the Golden Temple here,” he said.

The MP said that he had also discussed the harassment being faced by passengers who land here. “Many complaints were received that in the garb of checking, the passengers here are unnecessarily harassed by the ground staff. This kind of attitude would reduce the influx of passengers at Amritsar airport. I have asked them to ensure that innocent passengers are not harassed,” he said.
