Atharv Singh Negi wins chess title in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, June 12

Atharv Singh Negi scored four points to win the top position in the U-9 open category while Vedant Garg scored 4.5 points to win the U–13 open category on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Chess Championship organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association. A total of 56 boys and girls participated in it. Pratyaksh Goel with four points claimed the title in the open U-17 category.

In the boys’ U-9 category, Vivaan Mittal claimed second position and in the girls’ U-9 event, Hajel finished second. In the boys’ U-13 event, Aaditya Singla claimed second position and in the girls’ U-13 event, Prisha finished second. In the boys’ U-17 event, Bhavay Mahajan finished second and Krisha Bhatia claimed second position in the girls’ U-17 event. The winners have been chosen to represent the city in the upcoming national meet.
