Assets worth Rs 5.31 cr seized
In an effort to ensure free and fair Haryana Assembly elections, the Sirsa police have seized assets worth Rs 5.31 crore since the implementation of the election code of conduct. The seized assets include cash, gold, narcotics, alcohol, illegal weapons and vehicles. Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan said a special campaign is being carried out to curb illegal activities and keep anti-social elements in check. During this period, the police have seized cash amounting to Rs 2.05 crore and gold worth Rs 1.12 crore.
The police have confiscated narcotics, including 5.25 kg of opium, 172 kg of poppy husk and 863 gm of heroin, valued at Rs 1.08 crore. Furthermore, 18 pistols and 18 live cartridges, worth Rs 11.73 lakh, have also been seized. As part of the crackdown, the police have also seized 18,356 l of alcohol and gambling money amounting to Rs 9.52 lakh. Vehicles, including six cars, 10 motorcycles and a truck, have been impounded.
