With the campaigning for the Assembly elections in its last leg, political parties and the candidates have shifted their focus on roadshows and in market areas to grab the attention of the voters and woo them.

For BJP senior leaders, Anurag Thakur and Hema Malini participated in the roadshows in the Thanesar and Ladwa Assembly segments, respectively.

Congress candidate Mewa Singh campaigns in market areas of the Ladwa Assembly segment.

BJP Thanesar Candidate Subhash Sudha, who has been facing a tough competition from Congress candidate Ashok Arora, carried out a roadshow in the city area of Thanesar with a large number of vehicles, including an earthmoving machine and appealed to the voters to vote for the saffron party.

Kurukshetra BJP MP Naveen Jindal and Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur also joined the roadshow for a brief period and greeted the public while crossing various market areas in the city.

Anurag Thakur said, “Thanesar has witnessed unprecedented development under the BJP regime. Subhash Sudha’s victory will play a crucial role in the formation of the BJP government in Haryana. The people of Haryana always elect the party in state having power at the Centre. There is a BJP government at the Centre and for equal development in the state and jobs on merit, I urge people of Haryana to form a BJP government to ensure non-stop development in the state.” In the Ladwa Assembly segment, Mathura MP Hema Malini participated in a roadshow in support of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Hema Malini was accompanied by Nayab Saini, his wife Suman Saini and several BJP leaders. Meanwhile, Congress Ladwa candidate Mewa Singh went in the busy markets to meet the shopkeepers and seek their support.

Mewa Singh said, “We are going door to door and shop to shop to seek support and vote from the people of Ladwa. The BJP has failed to bring any development over the past 10 years and the people of Ladwa will teach the BJP a lesson in the elections. Nayab Saini will lose his security deposit and go back to Naraingarh.”

In Pehowa, Sayukt Sangharsh Party president and candidate Gurnam Singh took out a ‘Kamera Varg Jagao Yatra’ to appeal to the voters to support him.

Accompanied by farmers activists and leaders, Gurnam Singh visited various areas and said, “We have been fighting for the rights of the labour class, farmers and the poor. The politicians have been using people as their vote banks and not working for their welfare.

‘BJP will form govt’

CM Nayab Saini said, “The kind of response we have been receiving across the state indicates that the BJP is going to form the government for the third-time in Haryana. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi we will take Haryana to new heights of development. Rahul Gandhi has been spreading misinformation at his rallies and people have stopped trusting his words.”
