BJP candidates from Karnal, Indri, Gharaunda and Assandh Assembly constituencies have started campaigning following the announcement of tickets. Seeking divine favour, the candidates thronged religious places before diving into their campaign.
BJP candidate from Karnal Assembly seat Jagmohan Anand began his day by visiting Nirmal Kutia, where he sought blessings from the spiritual head. He also met sewadars and expressed his gratitude before heading for door-to-door visits.
Optimistic about his victory, Anand said, “I took blessings from the head before starting my campaign. I have already met party workers, and they have started making efforts for my victory.”
Questioned about disappointment among party members over his selection, Anand said, “Almost all leaders and workers are happy and working for the party. I will pacify those who are disappointed.”
In Gharaunda, MLA and BJP candidate Harvinder Kalyan visited religious places, including the one at Khera village. After seeking blessings, he started his campaign and met local residents. Confident of retaining his seat, Kalyan said, “People of Gharaunda will continue to bless me, and I am confident of winning the seat again. Development works will continue at the same pace.”
Meanwhile, the BJP candidate from Nilokheri, Bhagwandas Kabirpanthi, visited a gurdwara at Nissing before starting his campaign. “Residents of Nilokheri segment gave their blessings to me in 2014 and I won from this seat. I am hopeful, we will win this time, too,” he said.
