Assailants fire 16 rounds at petrol pump, 1 injured
Bike-borne assailants reportedly opened fire at a petrol pump in Gokulpuri on Friday, injuring one person. The incident occurred at Mukul Diesel Petrol Pump around 10.38 pm.
DCP (North East) Rakesh Paweriya said the injured, identified as Ansul Rathi, a supervisor at the petrol pump for six years, sustained glass shrapnel injuries in his abdomen. Rathi was immediately rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
The complainant said four persons arrived on two motorcycles. One of the pillion riders fired 16 rounds at the office cabin. The attackers fled in different directions — one motorcycle headed towards Gokulpuri, while the other moved towards Loni Gol Chakkar. Petrol pump owner Harish Chaudhary said an old rivalry might be the motive behind the incident.
