Artistes spread awareness on govt welfare schemes
Artistes from the Information and Public Relations Department conducted an awareness campaign across the district to highlight state government welfare initiatives. Through street plays and musical performances, they engaged with the public, raising awareness about key schemes and programmes.
The Bhagwati Cultural Group performed in Kharoo and Rautan, while the Jaishwari Folk Dance Art Platform captivated audiences in Sainj and Bagain. The Vandana Kala Rangmanch group held performances in Darbhog and Satalai, Himachal Kala Manch Sarog spread awareness in Tiyali and Dharech, and the Shiv Cultural Troupe performed in Shakarodi and Chaba.
The campaign spotlighted initiatives like the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana, offering eligible women Rs 1,500 in monthly financial aid. Artists also emphasised the government’s introduction of English-medium education from first grade in all government schools.
Street plays explained provisions for free education and financial aid for widows, single mothers, and children of differently-abled parents. Performances also addressed the dangers of substance abuse, encouraging people to avoid drugs.
Citizens were urged to utilise these schemes and spread awareness about them within their communities, ensuring wider access to the benefits offered by the government.
