Armed men shoot at 4 villagers in Phagwara

Four villagers were injured as six armed men opened fire at them at Bhabhiana village in Phagwara on Wednesday night.

The armed men who came on two motorcycles fled the scene after spraying the villagers, who were sitting near a religious place, with bullets.

SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti and SHO Sadar Amandeep Nahar reached the spot.

Dr Lehimber Ram at the local civil hospital said the injured were identified as Bittu (42), Jashanpreet Singh (19), Butta Ram (55) and Shinda (45).

The villagers alleged that the police reached the village late.
