‘Incredibly rare’ monkey born at Australian zoo

Sydney: One of the world’s rarest monkeys has been born at an Australian zoo. The male Francois’ Langur with its distinctive orange fur was born at Sydney’s Taronga zoo last week and has not yet been named. Critically-endangered, the animal is only found in China and Vietnam where it is threatened by poachers and loss of habitat from encroaching development. The baby’s bright orange hair lasts just a few weeks before it begins to darken to the colour of its mother Noel’s hair.  AFP

Barbers detained in Pak for un-Islamic beard styling

Peshawar: At least four barbers were detained in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province for styling their customer’s beard despite a ban imposed by a local traders union that termed it un-Islamic, according to a media report. The incident happened on September 30 and came into limelight after a video of the detention went viral on social media, the Dawn news reported on Thursday. Sameen, who is president of the shopkeepers union said, “The police imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of the barbers detained.” PTI

Prince Harry to sue Sun, Mirror owners over hacking

London: Britain’s Prince Harry is set to sue the publishers of Rupert Murdoch’s Sun newspaper and the Daily Mirror over allegations of phone-hacking as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex step up their warring with the press. “Claims have been filed on behalf of The Duke of Sussex at the HC regarding the illegal interception of voicemail messages,” a spokeswoman for Harry said.
