Water sports at Tattapani, Larji dam: Minister

Youth Services and Sports Minister Govind Singh Thakur has said that the state government has decided to develop water games at Tattapani and the Larji dam to promote adventure tourism.
He said the Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute, Manali, would develop infrastructure and other facilities in both areas. Tourists would be provided all modern facilities such as water biking and jet vetoes.
Recently, the institute organised a 14-day rafting exercise for 25 persons and those who passed the test were issued rafting licence.
The minister said to check the eligibility of a paragliding pilot, a machine had been set up by the institute.
Besides, the institute would provide the insurance facility to customers at Rs 150 for Rs 5 lakh and to pilot at Rs 550 for Rs 10 lakh.
The Sports Minister said the institute was also assisting the government in conducting search and rescue operations in snow-covered slopes and treacherous routes.
