Naresh Badgujar beat practice partner Krishan Hooda in straight sets to win the boys' U-14 title in the St. Stephen's CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament here today.

Naresh and Krishan were tied 4-4 in the first set before the former came out aggressively to clinch the next two games to win the opener 6-4.  

In the second set, Naresh broke Hooda early to race to a 4-0 lead. Krishan fought back to win the fifth and the sixth game but could not carry on the momentum and eventually lost the set 2-6.

In the boys' U-16 final, Shashikant Rajput registered a 6-4 6-3 win over Naresh Badgujar to win the title. 

In girls' U-14 title clash, Divija Godse overcame Simran Pritam in straight sets. 

After lagging behind 0-3 in the opening set, Simran fought back to draw parity. In the next two games, both players held their serve. However, Divija broke Simran in the ninth game to serve for the set. She claimed the final game to win the set 7-5. 

In the second set, Divija dropped just a single game to scamper to a 7-5 6-1 win. 

Harleen Kaur, meanwhile, overcame Princy Panchal 6-4 6-4 to lift the girls' U-16 trophy.
