City golfer Aadil Bedi won the Western India Amateur Golf Championship at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in Mumbai today.  

The 16-year-old shot five-under on the concluding day for a total card of 273 (70-71-67-65).

The youngster is next scheduled to play in the Maharashtra Amateur Championship to be held in Pune next week. 

“I am looking forward to play in the Youth Olympics in 2018 and the performance in these championships is important,” said Bedi.

“With today’s win, I have moved to 16th position in the IGU merit list. It was great to play with senior players like HS Kang, Viren Thapar, Dhruv Sheron and Shiv Naren,” said the budding golfer, who will represent India in the True Vision Golf Championship in Bangkok in the first week of April.
