Hoshiarpur, July 17
Ten members of the notorious Jaggu and Bhana gangs, lodged in the Hoshiarpur Central Jail, today scaled the walls of two blocks, entered another block and tried to free convict Gurpreet Singh Ladi, assaulting the jail warders and employees.
Even as Deputy Jail Superintendent Harbhajan Singh and jail guards scuffled with them, the jail alarm was sounded and a police team led by DSP Sukhwinder Singh reached the spot. The gangsters were nabbed and each of them sent to a high-security cell. Harbhajan Singh’s uniform was reportedly torn.
