Indian and Pakistan security forces on Wednesday exchanged sweets and greetings on the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Indian soldiers greeted Pakistani soldiers on the LoC in Chakan Da Bagh area of J&K’s Poonch and Samba districts, and at the Attari-Wagah joint checkpost in Punjab.

It is for the first time after Narendra Modi was sworn in as the PM for the second five-year term that security personnel have exchanged greetings.

In recent years, both sides have not greeted each other or exchanged sweets on some occasions due to tension between both countries following ceasefire violations on the LoC and the IB in Jammu and Kashmir or terrorist activities in state. IANS
