Punjab-born, Indian-American Miss India Worldwide 2018 winner Shree Saini (23), who collapsed before the final round of the Miss World America pageant on Sunday, was responding well to treatment in the Spring Valley Hospital, US.
Her grandfather TR Sachdeva in Abohar said Shree’s mom Ekta Saini said she was fine now. Shree was selected to compete for the pageant after she was crowned Miss Washington. In 2017 she was also crowned Miss India-USA.
Ekta said yesterday Shree collapsed before Miss World America final of the competition. “They called me backstage after an ambulance had arrived to take Shree to hospital. She was so happy all day and did a great job yesterday at the Miss World America preliminary round. I heard that she won five of six awards during today’s final night of competition. We have been in hospital since 9 pm. She will stay in the hospital for a “cardiac arrest watch,” Ekta said.
