A 21-year-old youth was allegedly killed by six persons at Arniwala Wazira village in the Lambi Assembly segment here last night.
The victim, Lakhvir Singh, who used to work as a farm labourer, was returning from the fields along with his associate when six persons on two motorcycles allegedly attacked him with a knife.
Lakhvir, somehow, managed to reach home, where he died.
The Lambi police have booked six persons on the charge of murder. Three of them have been identified as Gagandeep, alias Gaggi, of Arniwala Wazira village and Jagjit Singh and Laadi of Fatehpur Manian village.
Inspector Bikramjit Singh, SHO of the Lambi police station, said the accused would be nabbed soon.
Ranjit Singh, uncle of the deceased, alleged that a few days ago Gagandeep had thrashed a youth living nearby. Lakhvir Singh along with others went to talk to Gagandeep, but he had already fled leaving his motorcycle behind, which was vandalised by Lakhvir and his friends. Later, both factions reached a compromise. However, Gagandeep held a grudge against Lakhvir.
