BJP burns CM’s effigies across Garhwal

BJP Workers across the Garhwal region burnt effigies of Chief Minister Harish Rawat demanding his resignation over the sting CD released by Congress rebels showing him indulging in horse trading to save his government.
The BJP workers burnt Harish Rawat’s effigies at Mussoorie, Barkot and several others places in Garhwal and demanded the suspension of the Cabinet. They raised slogans against the Congress and accused Harish Rawat of using nefarious means to save his government that has lost the trust of the people.
Mussoorie BJP president Mohan Petwal said the government was trying to arm-twist as well as threaten the rebels and bribe some BJP legislators to switch sides. If the Chief Minister had even little morality left, he should resign immediately.
BJP workers from Barkot also burnt Harish Rawat’s effigy and sent a memorandum to the Governor through the SDM, Barkot, demanding imposition of President’s rule in the state considering the volatile political situation.
They demanded a probe by an independent agency into the video sting done by a local channel and abusing the channel after it exposed the government indulging in horse-trading.
