Kalyan Singh appears in court, put on trial

Lucknow, September 27

A Special CBI court in Lucknow on Friday framed charges against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster and recently retired Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case.

He was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh. Responding to summons of the CBI court Singh appeared and surrendered in the court.

After which his bail application was considered and he was released on bail.

Now he has also received bail in the case as the 13 other co-accused in the Babri demolition case, including LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and others.

Earlier, Singh did not appear before the CBI court as after had becoming the Rajasthan Governor on September 3, 2014, he had received constitutional immunity and charges had not been framed against him.

After Singh was relieved of his governor’s office on September 3, 2019 the CBI court has issued summons to him to appear in the court today.
