New Delhi, May 22

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval today said there was a need to enhance capabilities and professionalism of security forces as future challenges in the defence domain could be “grave”.

Awarding gallant personnel with medals at the annual investiture ceremony of the Border Security Force, he said each soldier was brave.

“If the country is safe today, BSF has a greater contribution to it,” he said. Twenty-two BSF personnel were decorated with medals of which 11 were given Police Medals for Gallantry, 10 (including two retired members) Police Medals for Meritorious Service and one officer was awarded Uttam Jeewan Raksha Padak today. — TNS
