New Delhi, April 6

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, former Congress leader Dharampal Sabharwal joined the BJP “unconditionally”. The former Rajya Sabha MP and Punjab minister joined the BJP in the presence of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and state leaders Shwait Malik and Tikshan Sood here today.

Welcoming Sabharwal, Jaitley said he had much influence in Punjab. “His calibre will help in BJP’s expansion in Punjab,” Malik added.

Sabharwal said India needed a strong leader like PM Narendra Modi. He claimed the Congress under the “weak leadership of Rahul Gandhi is seen as an anti-national party and there is a lot of resentment against it”. — TNS
