New Delhi, June 14
Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed BL Santosh as its national general secretary organisation, a press release said on Sunday.
Santosh, previously the party’s joint general secretary organisation, will take over from Ram Lal, who went back to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh—the party’s ideological mentor.
Ram Lal was relieved of his position on Saturday—a development that came after reports said he had written to BJP national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have him sent back. The 'sangathan mantri', is an important position—the bridge between BJP and RSS. A full-time RSS 'pracharak' is sent to the party on deputation.
BL Santosh is from Karnataka, and has a degree in engineering.
