Sacred Heart emerge overall runners-up

Ludhiana, August 13

Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Sahnewal, bagged 16 medals, including seven gold, and emerged overall runners-up in the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) Northern Region Athletics Meet-2019 held at Jamalpur.

Around 500 students from 10 zones of the Northern region — Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab — competed in different track and field events.

Students from Sacred Heart School, Sahnewal, won seven medals, five silver and four bronze, to secure the overall second position.

Guatam Roderpal, a student of Class XII (commerce) from the school, was adjudged the best athlete.

Besides Gautam, Akash Kumar, Kavish Aneja and Sukhmandeep Kaur were selected to take part in the National CISCE Athletics Meet to be held in Pune later this year.

Students were honoured during the school assembly by Fr William Sahota and Sr Crispin Maria DM, director and principal, respectively. — OC
