Players displayed their best in different sports disciplines being organised by the Sports Department under the Tandarust Punjab Mission.

These activities are being held at various venues across the state to encourage the youth towards sports.

The local office of the department also conducted competitions in different sports events at its sub-centres and the main venue, here at Guru Nanak Stadium.

According to information given by the District Sports Officer, Ludhiana, Ravinder Singh, competition in athletics was held at the GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar.

In a cross country race for girls, Kamaldeep Kaur emerged winner while Navjot Kaur secured the second position and Manpreet Kaur finished at the third place.

In the boy’s section, Anurag came out triumphant, followed by Surinder and Davinder at the second and third position, respectively.

Tanvir Singh bagged top honours in the air pistol competition held at Govind National College Shooting Range, Narangwal, whereas Ranjodh Singh finished as runner-up and Satnam Singh had to settle at the third position.

In basketball (boys), Ludhiana Basketball Academy (LBA) warded off stiff competition from their experienced opponents, Army XI, before wrapping up the issue 83-68.

Similarly, competition in track event (800m race for boys) was held here at Guru Nanak Stadium wherein Ajay Kumar of SDP Senior Secondary School proved too fast to come out winner.

Sunil Bind from SCD Government College secured the second position and Rajvir Singh from GGN Public School finished at the third spot.
