Rara Sahib Zone recorded two victories on the opening day of the Ludhiana District Inter-Zone Football Tournament for Girls U-14 that began at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, here today.

Amreenpreet Kaur of Rara Sahib Zone excelled scoring all goals for her team. In the match against the PAU Zone, Rara Sahib Zone came out triumphant 3-0 with all goals by Amreenpreet Kaur.

In the second match, Rara Sahib Zone got the better of Raikot Zone whom they beat 1-0. The all important goal was scored by Amreenpreet Kaur.

In another match, Dakha Zone outclassed Sahnewal Zone 3-0 in which Varanjot Kaur chipped in with a brace while Jaskirat Kaur accounted for one goal.

Kila Raipur Zone outplayed Ludhiana II Zone 3-0. Harpreet Kaur found the target twice and Simranpreet Kaur struck once to help their side romp home winners.

Samrala Zone blanked Jagraon Zone 3-0 with Navpreet Kaur and Kirandeep Kaur scoring two and one goal, respectively.

Sonam scored a hat-trick to enable Khanna Zone beat Sahnewal Zone 3-0 to advance into the next round.

Ten teams comprising different schools falling under Ludhiana Zone are competing in this two-day tournament, which was inaugurated jointly by Swaranjit Kaur and Ajit Pal Singh, District Education Officer and Assistant Education Officer, respectively.
