Police arrest Romanian disguised as woman

A Romanian youth dressed in women’s clothes landed in the police net at Khanna after he exchanged fake Euro currency with Indian Rupees. The alert shopkeeper, however, raised an alarm and the accused was arrested.

The youth has been identified as Simion, a resident of Romania. The Khanna police have registered a case under Section 420, 489-C against the youth in this regard.

As per the information, Simion had come to Khanna to meet his female friend from Mauritius.

He went to the Western Union office in Khanna, where he gave 1000 Euros and got Rs79,000 in return and left. But his dressing sense made him suspicious as he was dressed like a woman.

The Western Union staff then found the notes to be fake and they started searching for the accused and also informed the police. The Khanna police spotted Simion near the bus stand and took him to Khanna city police station, where after inquiry, a case was registered against him. SHO Rajneesh Kumar said after preliminary investigation, the accused said he had taken these notes from a person at Romania and had come to exchange it in Khanna. He said he was about to go in for a sex-change operation, for which he was taking medicines as well. The SHO said the accused was presented in court, from where he was sent in police remand for two days.
