Dev Samaj College girls shine on Day 2

Students of the Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur, dominated the proceedings during the second day of the 59th Zonal Youth and Cultural Festival of Moga-Ferozepur Zone- B, Panjab University Chandigarh, being held at the Khalsa College for Women Sidhwan Khurd near Jagraon.

The second day commenced with Nirmal Jaura, Director Youth Welfare, Panjab University Chandigarh, as chief guest being welcomed by the Principal Dr Paramjit Kaur. Jaswant Jaffar, a famous poet, was the chief guest for the literary items, was welcomed and honoured by the principal.

Besides music, dance and giddha, there were a variety of heritage items which were highly applauded by the audience. In the afternoon session chief guest, Jagraon MLA Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, motivated the youths to be aware of their past heritage and help in reviving.

In the Instrumental Music Percussion, Prabhjot Kaur of Guru Gobind Khalsa College for Women, Kamalpura, bagged I position while Dawinder Kaur of the Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur, stood II and Jashanpreet Kaur of the KCW Sidhwan Khurd, stood third. In non-percussion, I position went to Khushi of the Dev Samaj College for Women while Ranju Kumari of the KCW Sidhwan Khurd stood II.

In Indian Orchestra Individual, Jyoti Dhiman of the Dev Samaj College for Women won I position while Gagandeep Kaur and Suman stood second and third.

The Dev Samaj College for Women also won I position in folk instrument while II position went to KCW Sidhwan Khurd and third position was bagged by Swami Ganga Giri College, Raikot.

The college also won I position in Folk Group Orchestra while Swami Ganga Giri College, Raikot and KCW Sidhwan Khurd secured second and third positions respectively.

In Group Dance (general), Dev Samaj College for Women bagged I position followed by KCW Sidhwan Khurd SD College, Moga on II and III positions respectively. Kanchan Kumari of KCW Sidhwan Khurd won I position in Debate while II position went to Vassu Gupta of the GHG Institute of Law for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, and third position went to Jasdeep Kaur of Dev Samaj College for Women.
