Ludhiana: A one- day fun trip to the water park was organised by GNPS, Birmi for students. Students took rides and enjoyed at the the water park. Headmistress Dr Harjit K Dua expressed that such co-curricular activities help to break the monotony of routine of students. 

Teej celebrated

Ludhiana: Students celebrated Teej at Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Dugri, with fervour and danced to the tunes of traditional Punjabi music. Girls performed giddha in traditional attire and recited boliyan.

Malwa Khalsa School

Students at Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Model Gram, celebrated Teej. Girl staged a play on female foeticide and drug abuse. Principal Karanjit Singh distributed prizes to students.

BCM Kindergarten

BCM Kindergarten Basant Vihar celebrated Teej festival with great enthusiasm. Students wore Punjabi suits and traditional jewellery.Tiny tots brought Punjabi food in their tiffins, including kheer and malpuras and danced on folk songs. 

Nankana Sahib Public School

Teej was celebrated with fervour and gaiety at Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park. Students performed folk dances, including bhangra, giddha and solo dance. Students also enjoyed kheer and malpuras.

Youth Day celebrated

International Youth Day was organised at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar. Kamlesh Gupta delivered a speech on ‘pills that kills’. Director of the School Rev Fr John and Principal Rev Sr Silvi resolved for the removal of opioid addiction.

Street play on drug abuse

Volunteers of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, staged a nukkad natak at the market square. Students enacted stories of drug addicts and highlighted pathetic condition of their families. Students raised slogans and appealed the public to help them in winning the battle against drug menace.

Special assembly organised

Manav Rachna International School organised a two-day special assembly for students. First day’s theme was ‘It’s yummy’ and students recited poems on fruits and vegetables. The theme for the second day was ‘Wonderful water world’.

Dance contest held

Inter-class dance competition was organised at Ryan International School. The first position was bagged by Ada and Twinkle stood second whereas Shaurya bagged third position. — TNS
