Dev Samaj wins overall trophy at youth fest

Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival of Moga Zone (B) being organised at Khalsa College for Women (KCW), Sidhwan Khurd, near Jagraon, concluded today.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Ajaib Singh Bhatti visited as the chief guest during the occasion. He was accompanied by former minister Malkiat Singh Dakha, Satinderpal Singh Grewal and other Congress leaders during the occasion.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of the youth festival. The concluding day of the festival saw the students participating and competing with each other in various items.
Ajaib Singh Bhatti encouraged the students to work hard and shine on this platform of youth festivals. Malkit Singh Dakha paid homage to the founders of the college and asked the students to be role models in society.
The main attraction of the day were the bhangra and gidha presented by the teams of various colleges. The students also performed folk songs, kavishri, group song on the concluding day.
The overall trophy of the festival was won by the Dev Samaj College for Women Ferozepur. The host college, KCW, claimed II position while Bhag Singh Memorial Girls College Sukhanand stood III. Bhatti also declared to provide a grant of Rs51,000 from his fund to the college.
