Three girls of DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar branch, stole the limelight, finishing among medal winners in the Zonal Athletics Meet organised by the Punjab Education Department from October 7 to 10 here at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar.

Harshika Dhammi and Nivedita Ghai in the U-14 category while Jessica Dua in the U-17 section secured positions in this meet.

Harshika won three gold medals and stamped her class and Nivedita clinched a bronze medal while Jessica secured a silver medal in track events.

Harshika came out triumphant in the 100m, 200m and 400m races while Nivedita finished at the third spot in the 600m race. Jessica emerged first runners-up to bag the silver medal in the 800m race.

For their outstanding achievement, Harshika and Jessica were selected to take part in the District Schools Athletics Meet.

Principal Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu lauded the students for their consistent achievements and wished them more success in future competitions. She also congratulated their coach Amandeep Singh for his guidance.
