Darshan Academy students reap 16 gold medals

LUDHIANA: Students of Darshan Academy Bhambian Kalan stamped their supremacy clinching 16 gold medals in the Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex Central Zone Karate Tournament for Boys and Girls U14 17 and 19 held at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Jalandhar bypass branch here on Wednesday

Students of Darshan Academy, Bhambian Kalan, stamped their supremacy, clinching 16 gold medals in the Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex (Central Zone) Karate Tournament for Boys and Girls (U-14, 17 and 19) held at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass branch, here on Wednesday.

Sixteen students, eight each boys and girls, from Darshan Academy participated in different age and weight categories and all of them proved their class securing gold medals.

Those who won gold medal in this tournament (girls’ section) are Jahnvi (U-19, below 65 kg); Sheela Garg (U-19, below 50 kg); Vaishnavi (U-17, below 45 kg); Shreya Sharma (U-17, below 65 kg); Komal Rohilla (U-14, below 35 kg); Priyanka Verma (U-14, below 45 kg); Riya Pal (U-14, below 40 kg) and Mansha Sharma (U-14, below 30 kg).

Winners from boys’ category are Amanpreet Singh (U-17, plus 60 kg); Bhewon Verma (U-17, below 45 kg); Ashish Yadav (U-17, below 50 kg); Shivam Gupta (U-17, below 65 kg); Rajveer Yadav (U-17, below 60 kg); Gitansh Yadav (U-17, below 55 kg); Divyanshu Jha (U-14, below 25 kg) and Naetik Sachdeva (U-14, below 20 kg).
