Calligraphy competition organised

The Science and the Environment Society of the Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, organised a calligraphy competition in Punjabi and English and a slogan writing contest for students on Monday. Priyanka bagged the first position in English calligraphy contest while Vishali Kalra and Gurmehar Grewal secured second and third positions, respectively. In Punjabi calligraphy contest, Harshdeep Kaur was declared the winner. Nisha Verma secured second position while Pabhjot Kaur and Jasanvir Kaur jointly bagged the third position. Manisha won the first position in slogan writing contest while Sandhya and Shailja Verma secured second and third positions, respectively. College principal Sharajit Kaur was the chief guest on the occasion.

Book released

The IQAC of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, in collaboration with the Departments of Economics, Psychology and Sociology released a book titled “Towards inclusive growth through women empowerment — A plethora of perspectives” on Monday. This book is one of the initiatives undertaken to mark the 60th anniversary celebrations of the college. While releasing the book, college principal Mukti Gill said this book was an amalgam of a variety of perspectives aimed at providing a substantial input to policy makers for the purpose of ensuring a balanced, sustainable and inclusive growth of the nation through women empowerment.

Annual convocation held

The 41st annual convocation of the Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana, was organised on the college campus on Monday. The convocation commenced with a majestic and grand academic procession followed by a soulful shabad recitation by students. Punjabi University VC BS Ghuman was the chief guest and Meenakshi Malhotra, Director University Inspection, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the guest of honour. College principal Kirandeep Kaur extended warm welcome to the guests. Annual report was presented by Dr Kirandeep Kaur. A total of 664 students from various courses were awarded degrees on the occasion.
