In a drive against the sale of banned Chinese string launched by the Special Branch, raids were conducted in the Daresi area here on Thursday. As many as 440 roles of banned string and four sellers were arrested during the raids.

In the first raid, the police recovered six cases of the banned string. Each case contained 60 cones. In total 360 cones were recovered.

ADCP (Special Branch) Surendra Lamba said acting on a tip off raid was conducted and two persons identified as Prince and Rakesh Kumar, who were selling the banned string, were nabbed.

During another raid in the area under the police Division No. 4 as many as 80 cones of the banned string were recovered, he said. Two sellers were also arrested during the raid, the ADCP added.
