Army Day celebrations

LUDHIANA: Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana, celebrated the 71st Army Day with fervour and pride on the school premises. The day is celebrated on January 15 to commemorate the day when Lieutenant General KM Cariappa took over General Sir Francis Butcher as the Commander-in-Chief of India on January 1949. A special assembly was organised for the tiny tots. Each one of them introduced themselves in terms of nation, culture and heritage. They brought their presentation to a harmonious end by holding hands as one to the song — “We are the world, We are the children”. Students of primary wing paid tributes to the gallant Indian Army through various activities such as power point presentations, rhymes and poster-making events. Students of Kindergarten were dressed like soldiers. They recited patriotic poems. Principal Jyoti Sachdev Pujara urged students to stay united, fight against terrorism and stand together for the safety of mankind.

St. Soldier school

Indian soldier is a role model for people in the country and his role in nation-building has been outstanding. To salute the Indian Army, St Soldier Divine Public School, Golf Link, Hambran Road, dedicated the assembly to pay tributes to indomitable guardians of our frontiers on Army Day. The school management announced 100 per cent waive off in admission fee for defence and security personnel from the Army, Navy, AirForce, BSF, CRPF, Punjab Police and other armed forces. The assembly started with the recitation of a Hindi poem. Principal Dinesh Malik enlightened everyone with his inspirational words.

DCM Presidency 

Everyone should prioritise service to the mother land. To imbibe this message of patriotism among students, students of Class V-B of DCM Presidency put together a special assembly and celebrated Army Day. The morning began with the eloquent speeches and poetry recitation to sing highly of soldiers’ valour. Principal Rajni Kalra expressed her heartfelt gratitude and tributes to those who remained undeterred while laying down their lives for the sake of the nation.

BCM Kindergarten 

BCM Kindergarten, Sector 32, expressed their admiration and gratitude to the Indian Army by celebrating ‘Army Day’ with great enthusiasm. Little BCMites took part in activities planned for the day with great zeal and zest. Students of LKG made a Tricolour by tearing and pasting colourful paper strips, students of UKG drew and filled colours in the pictures of ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’. Different video clippings related to the life of the Indian Army were shown to kids. Teachers also explained the heroic efforts of the Indian Army in the form of stories. Principal DP Guleria appreciated the efforts of students and teachers and expressed his reverence to the Army.

BVM, Kitchlu Nagar

Saluting the outstanding role of the Indian Army on Army Day, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, paid tributes to the indomitable guards of our nation in collaboration with 3 PB-Girls BN NCC Ludhiana. Patriotic group songs and speeches commemorated the 71st anniversary of the Army Day in respect to Lieutenant General of India KM Cariappa, Indian Army’s First Commander in Chief. Expressing profound gratitude towards the Indian Army, their services and contributions were highlighted with great fervour and pride. Students signed their surrendered support to the nation in their written messages for the valiant soldiers. TNS
