Annual prize distribution

Ludhiana: An annual prize distribution function was held at Government College for Girls on Thursday. Dr Neelam Grewal, member, Punjab Public Service Commission, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Savita Sharma, Principal of the College, accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest. The college Principal read out the annual report of the session 2018-19, highlighting various achievements of the institution in the field of academics, sports, cultural activities and in other activities. The certificate of appreciation was also awarded to Japneet Kaur (College Head Girl), Simranjit Kaur (Additional Head Girl) and Amanpreet Kaur (President, NSS).

Course on disaster management  

On the 4th day of the six-day capsule course on disaster management at Arya College, the students were informed about the traffic control system during disaster with the help of police. Himanshi Arora gave a detailed information as how to control the traffic during any disaster and make emergency vehicles, services, police, ambulance and relief material available to the victims. Fire Officer Maninder Singh of District Fire Fighting Department discussed the types of fire, fire-fighting instruments, essential precautions and procedures. The members of his fire-fighting team presented a mock drill to make the students familiar with the entire process and to train them to face any untoward happening. TNS
