Ahmedgarh roads in a shambles

The majority of local roads here have been rendered non-motorable due to potholes. Mud combined with rains further compounds the problem by making the surface slippery.
Condition of roads leading to cremation grounds is the worst, thus making the last journeys also bumpy and muddy. To worsen the situation, portions of roads submerged under stagnant rain water make driving risky as commuters are unable to notice uncovered manholes and deep pits. Authorities at the local municipal office said weather adversities had affected the progress on those roads, work for which had already been started. They said the situation would improve after completion of the work.
President municipal council Suraaj Mohammad claimed that process for construction of roads leading to cremation ground had already been started. “Though we have initiated process for construction and repair of majority of roads, work on roads leading to cremation grounds and graveyards would be undertaken on priority,” said Suraaj Mohammad.
Almost all approach roads to the town and those connecting cremation grounds with various localities lie broken due to poor maintenance and stagnant rain and disposal water. Residents opt for alternative routes to reach their destination have to opt for alternative routes to prevent vehicles from pothole bumps and mud.
Lack of funds and the lackadaisical attitude of concerned authorities had worsened the condition of Dehliz Road, Jagera Road, Pohir Road, Bajrang Akhara Road, Shantivan Road, Mahavir Road, Chhapar Road and Ghungrana road.
