Television actress Kanika Maheshwari, who rose to fame with her role in the hit show Diya Aur Baati Hum, recently made her debut as a writer-producer with her short film Forever Whim. The movie, revolving around a mother-daughter relationship after the former has been detected with cancer, won an award at the Melbourne City Independent Film Awards and we hear now stands a nomination at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival to be held on September 20. 

An excited Kanika shares, “I didn’t see this coming. I’m ecstatic to get an official entry in the nominations.”
