‘I portray each role differently’
What are the prominent shows you have done so far?
I debuted with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and rose to fame with Sasural Simar Ka. I have also been a part of Super Sisters. My last outing was Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara and now finally I will be playing the lead in Manmohini on Zee TV.
How did you get the lead role in Manmohini?
I gave an audition in the same production house for some other show. Then they were constantly in touch with me and trying me for their other shows too. And at last, Manmohini happened.
What will be your character like?
My character’s name is Shakti and she is a powerhouse of energy. She belongs to an upper-middle-class family of Banaras and but is quite ambitious and takes her own decisions.
What are your expectations from Manmohini ?
I did parallel leads and leads both. In Sasural Simar Ka, I became the lead post leap where I played Simar’s daughter. Expectations and responsibilities were high then as well and I worked really hard and thus received appreciations too. This time again the case is quite similar.
What preparation you have done for the role?
My role does require some homework like I’m trying to catch the subtle accent of urban UP. I am watching few movies of the specific vicinity and practising.
Daily soaps leave no time for personal life. Do you agree?
It’s true that working in daily soaps leaves no space for personal life but it doesn’t matter for the people like me who live for their passion.
What is your dream role and why?
I don’t have any specific dream role. Honestly, I just try to portray each role I do differently from any other. I aim to be known as a versatile actor.
Which TV shows you love to watch?
I love watching shows from around the globe. FRIENDS, How I Met Your Mother, Dynasty and The Girl I Loved (Turkish) are my all-time favourites.
