‘I love challenges’

Was there any requirement to work on your accent to do justice to your character?

I am a Bengali, so definitely it is challenging for me as the show is based in Maharashtra. There was a requirement for me to change my accent and work on my Marathi language. To do that I also joined classes.

Why did you choose the role?

I was very excited when I heard the script; it is unique and very different from the other TV shows. I’ve even seen the filmBajirao Mastani and when I was offered this role, I just couldn’t reject it. This is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me and I’m very blessed to play this role.

What kind of preparations have you undergone for the role?

I am trained in horse-riding, but am working on my accent.

Is it challenging to be in a certain costume and wear jewellery on a regular basis?

For me, wearing the traditional saree called as kashta was challenging as it is heavy and the jewellery is also too heavy, but I love challenges.

What are your expectations from the show?

My expectations are really high.

Your favourite Bollywood actor?

Ranbir Kapoor.

Is Bollywood on the cards?

Right now, only this show is important for me, but I would love to do Hindi films also.
