Emraan Hashmi seems ready to diversify and sink his teeth into other cinematic skills. With both Indian and Pakistani flags in the backdrop, the poster of Hashmi’s first home production, Captain Nawab, makes for an intriguing first look. With a successful 14-year-old career, the talented actor has a strong fan base, rooting for his upcoming venture.

The 38-year-old along with co-producer, Anthony D’Souza, has worked on the script of the film for months together. Hashmi plays a Pakistani military officer in the film. As a part of prep, the actor will be receiving training from the Indian Army and also be tutored to perfect his Urdu. Talking about his prep, Anthony D’Souza says, “He is to train with the members of the Indian Army to get the mannerisms and the use of arms right. He will also be taking lessons in Urdu to come across convincingly as a character from Pakistan.”

With encouragement from industry insiders and Emraan’s impressive command as an actor and now producer, the spy thriller is touted to be one of the most promising releases of the year. Feeling strongly about the theme of the film D’Souza adds, “Gandhiji’s principles are more relevant now than ever, since the concept of eye for eye is dangerously propagated. Our film reiterates the futility of war.”
