Renowned producer and actor Jamnadas Majethia is ready to take centrestage with his show Khichdi on Star Plus. He talks about the show and his role

How does it feel to be back on Khichdi? 

People have loved and kept brand Khichdi alive till date, so we are overwhelmed and humbled by their love as well as loyalty. Two seasons, one movie and again a new season full of joy and laughter! I am extremely happy to bring it all back.

How is this season different from the last two?

This season, like the other seasons, is full of madness. But what stands out this season is that it is a lot funnier. A sense of nostalgia along with a fresh new story, the show will sure entertain. 

How many characters from the previous seasons have been retained?

We have retained all the main characters from Khichdi’s previous seasons. I will be essaying the role of Himanshu, but our little Jacky and Chucky are the surprise elements in the show! We have also retained characters from Khichdi, the movie, which are the Parminders! 

How are you juggling between producing and acting?

It is like a double role. As a producer, there are challenges every hour and I have to deal with them very tactfully so my thinking cap is always on. As Himanshu, I have to be quite opposite — naive and innocent.

Will viewers see new characters? 

We have roped-in faces like Renuka Shahane, Deepshikha Nagpal, Debina Bonerjee, Umesh Shukla (director of movie Oh My God), Pankaj Dheer, Bakhtiyaar Irani and many more! It is quite a talented cast.
