Dia ready for her digital debut

Last seen playing a strong role in Sanju, Dia Mirza will soon begin shooting for her first web series. Titled Kaafir, the show will be directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Siddharth Malhotra for OTT platform Zee 5. Writer Bhavani Iyer is believed to have crafted a layered and challenging role for Dia. In what is touted to be a drama based on a true story, Dia will play the protagonist. 

In order to construct her role with absolute authenticity, the actress worked with ace workshop director Atul Mongia. Dia shares, “A workshop is an intense study, an exploration of the character one is playing. For me personally, getting to know the character is extremely important. The process of discovering the person one is playing is exciting! Working with Atul was a unique and wonderful experience. This is the most challenging part I have ever played and I feel so lucky to be a part of story that is based on true events.”
