Haryana’s Sumit Saini emerged victorious in the third season of The Voice, taking home the trophy and prize money of Rs 25 lakh. He managed to beat the other three finalists — Adnan Ahmad, Hargun Kaur and Simran Chaudhary. Sumit was the first contestant on the show to receive the Jai Ho Performance compliment from maestro AR Rahman. The Voice 3 winner has pursued his passion for singing since a young age. An excited Sumit shares, “I started singing as a kid and then decided to train myself with various gharanas. I didn’t know how I could make use of all the training. And then a friend told me that The Voice India was conducting auditions. And when I got to know that AR Rahman will also be a part of the show, I knew I couldn’t miss it for anything. I wanted to be on the show only because of him.”
