Schools celebrate Guru Nanak Jayanti MHAC, Nagbani

The educational institutes in Jammu region celebrated the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev with enthusiasm. A special assembly was conducted at MHAC School, Nagbani to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The students marked the Parkash Utsav with various activities. They also shared useful information relating to the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev besides singing Shabads and holy hymns

Pushp Vatika

Pushp Vatika celebrated Guru purb on its premises. Shabad kirtan were recited by teachers and students besides participating in gatka. Some teachers threw light on the life of the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.

Jammu Sanskriti School

Guru Nanak Dev's birth anniversary was celebrated on the school presmises. A special assembly was organised, wherein the students came dressed in traditional Sikh attire. The assembly started by paying floral tribute to Guru Nanak Dev followed by information related to his life and teachings. Principal-cum-Vice chairperson, Rohini Aima, appreciated the efforts put in by the children and the teachers.

Rich Harvest School

Management, staff and students of Rich Harvest School celebrated 550th Guru Nanak Jayanti. Obeisance was paid to the first Sikh Guru by the children singing Guru Bani. Sandeep Kaur narrated motivating incidents from the life of Guru Nanak Dev. Principal, Anita Bhatia was also preset on the occasion

Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, celebrated Guru Nanak Dev's 550th birth anniversary with a langar jointly prepared by the staff and students. The teachings of Guru Nanak Dev was the highlight of the programme

British International School (BIS) celebrated 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev on the school premises with fervour, devotion and enthusiasm. Subha Mehta, Deputy Director, Tourism, was the chief guest. Students presented a vareity of cultural programmes to mark the occasion.

RM Public School

RM Public School celebrated birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev on the school premises. Sukhmani Sahib path was recited by teachers and shabad kirtan by the students of the school.

Students of Stepping Stone Playway School visited a gurdwara on Monday to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. 

GDC, Kathua

Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua concluded week-long celebration of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev by organising a seminar and kavi darbar.The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the traditional lamp by Prof Assa Ram Sharma, Principal of the college, along with dignitaries and resource person, Dr Pritam Singh 

SMVDU, Katra

The 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated on the premises of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. The event was organised by the Sikh Sangat of the university and SMVD Narayana Hospital, Katra. The event started with a paath of Sukhmani Sahib followed by kirtan/gurbani vichar. Guru ka langer was also served.
