Docs check health of sacrificial animals

A team of senior veterinary doctors today visited several areas of the city, including Eidgah, Nowshera, Rawalpora and Ranawari, to inspect veterinary camps established to check health of sacrificial animals.
An official statement said during the visit, which was conducted on the directions of the Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, and Director, Sheep Husbandry, Kashmir, Dr Mohammad Ramzan, the team found that some animals were not in good health and unfit for sacrifice and directed the authorities to ensure that only quality animals were sold to customers.
“While conducting the physical inspection of various animals and taking stock of the medical facilities, the team expressed satisfaction with the arrangements put in place. The director asked the authorities concerned to utilise the services of mobile vans for checking sacrificial animals in other areas to ensure that proper medical facilities are provided to them. He also asked them to ensure medical facilities at every camp so that proper treatment is provided to sick and wounded animals,” a statement said.
‘Ensure sale of quality animals’
